Top Three Award
Awarded to the top three graduates with the highest averages.
Top three averages only--average marks to two decimal points.

Leadership Award
Awarded to a graduate who demonstrates extraordinary leadership skills & is highly active in the school.
  • Participated in a variety of activities within the Centennial community } 
  • maintained an academic standard commensurate with their abilities } (weighted together 50%)
  • demonstrated respectful, ethical, inclusive behaviour to all within our school community } 
  • demonstrated appropriate behaviour reflecting the goals and mission of the school }  (weighted Together 50%)
Triumph Award
Awarded to one or two graduates who have overcome challenges during their Centennial years.
Optional--may not be awarded every year (i.e., overcoming/battling an illness, physical disability, or some other adversity, etc.)

Dr. Sutherland Award
Awarded to one or two graduates who have demonstrated leadership within the school/community to raise awareness/fundraise for a cause to help alleviate human suffering as a result of illness.
Optional--may not be awarded every year.

Most Improved
Awarded to a student who:
  • demonstrated an excellent effort in improving attitude and participation in school (weighted 25%)
  • demonstrated a determination to improve }
  • set specific goals and followed through }
  • maintained academic standard commensurate with their abilities } (weighted together 50%)
  • demonstrated appropriate behaviour reflecting the goals and mission of our school (weighted 25%)
ETFO Core French Award
Awarded to a student who:
  • demonstrated a passion for learning and growth within Core French }
  • participated enthusiastically and positively }
  • maintained an academic standard commensurate with their abilities }
  • demonstrated an excellent attitude, effort during class } (weighted together 50%)
  • demonstrated positive leadership skills consistently throughout the school community }
  • demonstrated appropriate behaviour reflecting the goals and mission of our school  } (weighted together 50%)

Awarded to a student who:
  • demonstrated a passion for learning and growth within French Immersion }

Centennial Male & Female Athlete of the Year
Awarded to one male and one female who:
  • participated in a variety of activities within the athletic community at Centennial (i.e., different sports, Athletic Council, intramurals, refereeing, coaching opportunities, etc.) }
  • participated with a high degree of skill, intensity, and game sense }
  • maintained an academic standard commensurate with their abilities }
  • showed dedication and commitment to his/her teams and activities }
  • demonstrated respect and sportsmanship to teammates, coaches, workers, refs, opponents, etc. } (weighted together 50%)
  • demonstrated positive leadership skills consistently throughout the school community and in athletics }
  • demonstrated appropriate behaviour reflecting the goals and mission of our school  } (weighted together 50%)
Centennial Music Award
Awarded to a student who:
  • demonstrated a passion for learning and growth within Music }
  • participated with a high degree of skill and emotional connection with the music }
  • maintained an academic standard commensurate with their abilities }
  • demonstrated an excellent attitude, effort, and enthusiasm during class } 
  • participated in a variety of activities within the music community at Centennial (i.e., band, choir, concerts, mentorship, etc.)  } (weighted together 50%)
  • demonstrated positive leadership skills consistently throughout the school community }
  • demonstrated appropriate behaviour reflecting the goals and mission of our school  } (weighted together 50%)
Centennial Arts Award
Awarded to a student who:
  • demonstrated a passion for learning and growth within Visual Arts }
  • participated with a high degree of skill and emotional connection with the media
  • maintained an academic standard commensurate with their abilities }
  • demonstrated an excellent attitude, effort and enthusiasm during class } 
  • participated in a variety of activities within the art community at Centennial (i.e., displays for Remembrance Day, bulletin boards, Grad, etc.) } (weighted together 50%)
  • demonstrated positive leadership skills consistently throughout the school community }
  • demonstrated appropriate behaviour reflecting the goals and mission of our school  } (weighted together 50%)
Academic Recognition
Centennial Scholar: 80% every subject
Achievement: 78%  or above average overall
Subject Award: 80% or above overall for the subject

Learning Skills
Excellence in Learning Skills: all Es
Diligence in Learning Skills: Es and Gs

Extra-Curriculars
Gold: 4+ activities (or one year-long activity e.g., band)
Silver: minimum of 2 activities
