Grade 8 Grad, Wednesday, June 28
Centennial's Grade 8 Celebration is this week.  The ceremony is being held at the Living Hope Alliance Church on the 8th Line, (Main Street south), in Georgetown.  The seating capacity of 550 allows for each family of the graduating student to have 2 guests only, regardless of whether the family has one or more students graduating.  tickets are handed out when guests sign in before entering the church on the night of the graduation.  No tickets are handed out beforehand.  this ensures that the number of people in the building remains within fire regualtion guidelines.
Students need to arrive at, but not before, 6:30 pm so that the ceremony can begin at 7 pm.  and hopefully finish shortly after 8 pm.  Following the ceremony, there iwll be a dance and refreshments for the students in the Centennial gym.  Of course, there will be an opportunity for parents to have the 'first dance' with their child when the music starts at 8:30 pm.
The dress for this celebration need not be formal.  The weather is often very hot and humid at this time of the year.  Although the church is air conditioned, the Centennial gym (where the dance is held) can be extremely hot, so wearing formal attire will make the students uncomfortable.
